Things to Do

Relax - fish - play golf - walk the beaches - climb the hills - spot the wildlife - explore the cliffs - lunch in the pantry - visit the brewery - spot the eagles - find the lost village - check out what's going on in the shop - have dinner in the hotel - relax.

There is a challenging and unusual 18 hole golf course.

Trout fishing is available in the lochs.

Ceilidhs are held on Saturdays in July and August.

The bookshop has everything to help you find out about Colonsay and lots more.

The brewery shop has an interesting range of clothing and gifts as well as great beer.

Your visit may coincide with a clay pigeon shoot by the gun club.

In the summer there’s sports day - the regatta - usually someone organises a cricket match Island v The World. Take part in the Colonsay Open golf tournament.

Look out for talks and walks given by the RSPB and members of the Colonsay and Oransay Heritage Trust.

Collect some mussels and cockles for supper.

Regular art exhibitions are held in the old waiting room at the pier.

Colonsay has 22 McPhies (hills over 300 feet) - you can walk them all in a single day - some people actually do!

The only limit is your imagination.
